Hintergrund zur Miniserie “Zeitfalte” / Background to the mini-series “time fold”

Da ich gestern einen Ausschnitt des Bildes «Zeitfalte 1» gepostet habe und dieses Bild normalerweise im Tearoom «Rosengärtli» hängt, hat Bernd mich gefragt, warum das Bild ausgerechnet so heisst.
Der Hintergrund für diese beiden Bilder ist folgender:
«Ein langer Sommerabend als Kind, ein erster Kuss im Freibad oder ein gutes Essen mit Freunden…… diese Momente nenne ich eine «Zeitfalte» oder «Zeitschlaufe». In solchen Momenten scheint die Zeit nicht zu existieren und die Welt den Atem anzuhalten. Ihnen wohnt eine besondere Magie inne. Man trotz dem stetigen Fluss des Lebens ein paar Extra-Moment ab. Eine Falte in der Zeit, um die das Leben weiterläuft.»
Beide Bilder zeigen Desserts, die sowieso das Beste an einem Essen sind. Ich stelle mir vor wie dieses Dessert vor mich hingestellt wird und ich weiss, dass dieser tolle Abend noch ein Weilchen andauern wird und ich meine gemütliche Zeitfalte noch nicht so bald verlassen muss.
Since I posted a section of the painting “Zeitfalte 1” yesterday and this painting usually hangs in the tearoom “Rosengärtli”, Bernd asked me why the painting is named like this.
The picture and his brother “Zeitfalte 2” were created on the occasion of the exhibition of the bkbeo (“bildende kunstschaffende Berner Oberland” of which I am a member) on the subject “Falten / falten”.
The background for these two paintings is the following:
A long summer evening as a child, a first kiss in the open air swimming pool or a good meal with friends……. I call these moments a “time fold” or “time loop”. In such moments, time seems not to exist and the world holds its breath. There is a special magic about them. You take a few extra moments despite the constant flow of life. A wrinkle in time, around which life goes on.
Both paintings show desserts that are the best part of a meal anyway. I imagine how this dessert is placed in front of me and I know that this great evening will continue for a while and that I won’t have to leave my cosy time fold anytime soon.
