Der Sommerflieder auf meinem Bild ist schon lange verblüht und vor dem Haus lag noch vor kurzem Schnee. 5 Monate hat es gedauert, bis dieses Bild vollendet war. Zwar habe ich nicht jeden Tag acht Stunden an diesem Bild gearbeitet, aber so überschlagsmässig komme ich auf ca. 100 Stunden.

Neu an diesem Bild ist vor allem, dass ich von Anfang an geplant habe, es ohne Rahmen und Glas aufzuhängen. Aus diesem Grund habe ich das Papier um die Kanten gezogen und bemalt. Da das Papier auf stabilem Birkensperrholz aufgebracht ist, kann man jetzt einfach nur zwei Nägel in die Wand schlagen und das Bild daran aufhängen. Fertig! Genauso hatte ich mir das vorgestellt.

Die Oberfläche wird mit Pastell-Fixierer stabilisiert und geschützt. Ich trage den Fixierer Schicht für Schicht auf und lasse die Oberfläche dazwischen komplett trocknen.

Für dieses grosse Bild mit all den verschiedenen Früchten und Blüten habe ich ziemlich viele Kreiden aus meiner Palette genommen. Als Vorbereitung für das nächste Bild habe ich wie immer alle Kreiden in die Palette zurücksortiert. Sehr meditativ und befriedigend!

Geniesst die Feiertage, auch wenn sie nicht wie üblich im grossen Familienkreis stattfinden. Ich finde das zwar schade, aber ich habe vor das Beste draus zu machen!

The summer lilac on my painting has long faded and in front of the house was recently snow. 5 months it took until this painting was completed. Although I have not worked every day eight hours on this painting, but roughly I come to about 100 hours.

What is new about this painting is that I planned from the beginning to hang it without a frame and glass. For this reason, I pulled the paper around the edges and painted them. Since the paper is mounted on sturdy birch plywood, you can now just hammer two nails into the wall and hang the painting on it. Done! This is exactly how I had imagined it.

The surface is stabilized and protected with pastel fixativ. I apply the fixativ layer by layer and let the surface dry completely in between.

For this large painting with all the different fruits and flowers, I took quite a few pastels from my palette. In preparation for the next painting, I sorted all the sticks back into the palette as usual. Very meditative and satisfying!
