Day 14
Today I want to give you a little insight into my sketchbook and connect to the topic “background & foreground” from yesterday.
The two sketches show my experiments with the background. If you compare sketch 1 and sketch 2, you can see immediately that sketch 2 does not work, because the two horizontal lines draw attention away from the foreground. In sketch 2 you can see that I interrupt the large black area on the left with the lighter area. In the painting I did this with the light spots.
The main focus is on the left muffin, the secondary focus is on the berries in the bowl. I do this basic composition already during the photographing, but during the postprocessing on the computer I optimize the cutout, so that the intersections of the golden section are where I want them to be.

Heute will ich euch einen kleinen Einblick in mein Skizzenbuch geben und an das Thema «Hintergrund & Vordergrund» von gestern anschliessen.
Die beiden Skizzen zeigen meine Experimente mit dem Hintergrund. Wenn man Skizze 1 und 2 vergleicht, dann sieht man sofort, dass Skizze 2 nicht funktioniert, da die beiden horizontalen Linien die Aufmerksamkeit vom Vordergrund wegziehen. Bei Skizze 2 sieht man, dass ich die grosse schwarze Fläche links mit der helleren Fläche unterbreche. Im Bild habe ich das dann mit den zarten Lichtflecken gemacht.
Der Hauptfokus liegt auf dem linken Muffin, der Nebenfokus auf den Beeren in der Schale. Diese Grundkomposition mache ich schon während des Fotografierens, aber beim Nachbearbeiten am Computer optimiere ich den Ausschnitt, so dass die Schnittpunkte des goldenen Schnitts dort zu liegen kommen, wo ich es möchte.
